Seasonal  News - Summer
Now is the time to start your pool up for summer swimming.  Most people are turning their heat pumps on and adjusting their pump to run a minimum of eight hours per day. Circulation and filtration will always be the best non-chemical thing you can do for your pool.

Bring in a water sample for testing, we can ensure the mineral balance of the pool is at its best levels.  This is a great way to start the pool up for summer.  Water balance is key to ensuring that the chlorine supplied to the pool is fully active.  If your pool has gone green, we can suggest the best way to turn the pool around and have it sparkling clear and healthy for summer.

Pool covers are a great way to both help heat the pool, and maintain the temperature overnight.  Solar covers allow the sun's heat to pass through the bubble material and up to 8 degree heat rise is possible through some covers.  Thermal covers do not heat the pool, but maintain the heat you supply to the pool through heat pumps or gas heaters.  Speak to us if you would like a quote for a new cover.

Once the pool is up and running, we recommend maintaining a chlorine level of 2ppm - 3ppm, and weekly oxidising with Bioguard Lite.  This rids the pool of cloudiness caused by bather waste and when used in conjunction with a weekly dose of Back Up II Algaecide helps ensure a clear, sparkling pool.  Monthly water tests should also be maintained to ensure that water stays in optimal mineral balance.  

In store water testing is quick and easy, and complimentary.  Bring us a sample of your pool water and we’ll tell you exactly how to balance the water to make it healthy for swimming, and show you cost effective and time efficient ways  to look after your pool water.  There are many great products in the Bioguard range to take care of specific problems, we are always happy to discuss these with you.

Alternatively we can take all that work away and valet your pool for you on a fortnightly or monthly basis.  We will then take care of the vacuuming and cleaning,  water testing and dosing of chemicals for you.  If you are already one of our valet customers, then you should consider increasing the frequency to a summer timetable.
